What is H.O.O.P.S.?
This program was developed by Patrolman Jay Beverett who serves as one of the Training/Community Policing Bureau’s Triad Officers. H.O.O.P.S. stands for Hillsborough Officers Outreach Program for Seniors. The program was developed to increase communications with and address the needs of Hillsborough Township Senior Citizens. This Program is also taught by Patrolman Chris Weckenman, who is also a NJ State Triad Member and assigned to HTPD's Training/Community Policing Bureau.
What does this program offer? |
The File of Life Program · Purpose: This program provides Emergency Response Personnel with detailed medical and background information for a person in the event of a medical emergency.
These Magnetized Emergency Medical Information Cards were distributed to most Hillsborough Township Senior Citizens. These cards are essential and enhance our Police Officers and other Emergency Response Personnel's response time in evaluating and treating Seniors involved in medical emergencies. Participating Seniors are asked to complete the File of Life Medical Information card in it's entirety, place it in the provided magnatized pouch, and attach it to the outside of their homes refrigerator. The pouch also contains a File of Life decal/sticker that should be affixed to the main entrance of the Seniors Home. Any Hillsborough Township Senior Citizen in need of a File of Life Pouch should contact the Hillsborough Twp Police Departments Training/Community Policing Bureau at 908-369-4323 ext. 633.
