The Investigative Division is commanded by Lt. Fran Mozgai. This division is composed of the Detective Bureau and the Juvenile Bureau and consists of nine (9) sworn Police Officers and one (1) civilian employee. Three(3) Detectives are assigned to the Detective Bureau and they primarily investigate major crimes and other major incidents. Four (4) Detectives are assigned to the Juvenile Bureau and their primary investigations involve juvenile cases. Included within the Juvenile Bureau are two (2) School Resource Officers (SRO's). Both SRO's have offices within Hillsborough High School and perform daily canvasses of the Hillsborough Middle School. They work directly with school personnel in order to maintain a safe educational environment.
The duties of the Investigative Division include criminal investigations, juvenile incidents and investigations as well as investigations for applications for firearm permits, liquor licenses and soliciting licenses.
